Our Anniversary

The year we were married, spring came early and the trees and flowers were all in bloom.  I remember the wisteria bush at my parents house was full of vibrant blossoms and looked like a purple waterfall on the side of their house.  I can't remember it ever blooming like that before and I know it hasn't since.  It was spectacular.  Of course we took full advantage of it and used it as a back drop for several wedding photos.  It was a beautiful representation of our wedding day. 

Time has flown by - faster each year.  This year spring is slow to come.  The early flowers are out but the trees and bushes have yet to bloom.  It was sunny today but the temperatures were only in the 50s with a strong, cold wind blowing from the North.  This year, there's no correlation between the weather and our marriage.  My life with Brad is wonderful - fulfilling.  He surprised me with a beautiful jade necklace to represent our 26 years or marriage.  I love my life and I love my boys and as cliched as it sounds, they really are the light of my life.  It gets better every year.  Happy Anniversary to me - to us!

Valentine Flowers

Sorry, this is sideways - I couldn't figure out how to rotate it so it would post upright.  Brad had the most gorgeous Orchids sent to me at work for Valentines Day this year.  I had to post a pic - just ignore all the files on my desk and focus on the lovely flowers.  Aren't they spectacular?

25 Years Already!

Happy Anniversary to the wonderful and amazing man that I feel blessed to call my husband and my best friend.  I Love you Brad!  Here's to 25 more fantastic years!!  :) 

My Daddy is My Favorite Pal

Happy Father's Day to my amazing husband and my boys most awesomest father.  We all love and appreciate you so much!

Today at church, all the kids sang to the dad's.  Winston was so excited for this.  They've been practicing each Sunday for the last month.  They sang, My Daddy is My Favorite Pal and Winston sang as loud as he could.  We could clearly hear him over everyone else.  He's so proud of his daddy.

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Wow, I can't believe it's been 24 years since we took the plunge - 24 wonderful years.  Where has the time gone?  It doesn't feel like it's been anywhere near that long and yet it's hard to remember my life before we were together.

I love my family so very much.  I'm deeply grateful for Brad and the life we share together. We've been blessed with three wonderful boys and I'm full of gratitude for the life we've built together. I'm looking forward to all that the future holds for us.  Families really are what life is all about.   

Valentine's Wish

I met the love of my life almost 25 years ago (has it really been that long?)  We'll be celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary this year.  It boggles my mind to think how many years we've been together.  I  feel like I should be thirty-something not forty-something but that's alright.  It's been a wonderful journey getting to this point in my life - full of lots of ups and downs.

Life's about finding joy in the journey and I'm very blessed to have so much goodness in my life.  I'm so grateful for Brad, for his love and support and for the life we share together.   Thank you Brad for a wonderful 24 years together - here's to the next 24.  Happy Valentines Day!

Superbowl Pics

We had a great time watching the big game, hanging out together and eating lots of yummy, fattening food.  I made way too much food and ate too much of it - Mmmm.  I love having an excuse to bake.  : )  Brad was especially happy since he's been a Greenbay Packer's fan since he was a boy.  By the way, what's a Cheese Head anyway?

We gave Winston a kids camera last Christmas.  It's made by Fisher Price and I've been very impressed with this fun, tough little camera - it really is kid proof!  Winston has had a blast taking pictures and it's been fun to look back through the photos he's taken and see things from his perspective.  The pictures aren't the highest quality, but they're better than I would expect from a child's toy.  There are a few that make me smile and scratch my head - like his picture of our fruit bowl and the picture of his shoes while sitting in his car seat.  He's getting really good at using his camera and it'll be fun to see what he decides to photograph this next year.  Here's a slide show of a few of his photos from 2010. 

Pool Time for our little Fish - Glub, Glub!

So this one is a catch-up post.  For labor day we took Winston to the pool and he had an absolute blast.  I had fun watching him and capturing these pictures while he played, explored and swam all over the place.   

The Best Daddy

My boys have the best Daddy.  Brad really loves his sons and has always wanted the best for them.  He's worked so hard for them over the years and while he may not be perfect, he's always done what he thought was best for them and for our family.  Thank you Brad for all that you do and for who you are.  Our lives are tremendously blessed by you and all that you do for us.  My boys really do have the best daddy and I have the best husband!  Happy Father's Day Brad.  We Love you!

Happy about a Cactus - who knew?

Winston has been on a Cars movie kick for the last 4 months or so. He always laughs at the part where Lighting McQueen crashes into the bushes and then the big cactus falls on him. He's become fascinated with cactus and the fact that they're prickly. Last Saturday, we were at Home Depot and Winston spotted a little cactus. He just had to have it so of course we bought it for him along with a little pot to put it in. Brad helped him pot it when we got home. Winston was just beaming and is so happy to have a cactus o f his own. He put it on his dresser in between his pictures of Zack and Bo - a very honored spot. Who knew a cactus could make a 3 year old so happy?

Our 23rd Anniversary

May 1 was our wedding anniversary - the 23rd to be exact. All I can say is WOW - where did all the time go? It really does go by too quickly. Brad took me up to the Homestead Resort in Midway for a weekend getaway. We used to go up there every year for our anniversary but we started going to other places and haven't been there for 10 years. We had a blast just hanging out together. After all these years together I'm still proud and happy to call him my best friend. My life has been so enriched by this wonderful man and I feel so blessed to have him as my husband, my partner and the father of my children. Our boys couldn't ask for a better daddy. The next 23 years are going to be an adventure and I already know that with Brad by my side, it's going to be great.

Belated Wish

I know it's a little late, but I wanted to wish Brad a Happy Birthday. His birthday was actually last week - I didn't forget about it. In fact, I secretly made arrangements for a babysitter and took him out for dinner to his favorite restaurant. Then we did a little shopping - for him of course and headed home to open his presents with Winston and watch a favorite movie before heading to bed. All in all we had a great time together. He's my best friend and I love spending time with him. Happy 40-somethingth Brad! You have all my love and always will.

A Happy Anniversary!

Today is my and Brad's 22nd anniversary. I can't believe it's been that long since we officially tied the knot. He's my best friend and my one true love and even after all these years, the sight of him and the sound of his voice still warms my heart and brightens my day. It's been twenty-two really great years. We've had our ups and downs but I wouldn't change any of it because all of our experiences have made us who we are today. I love our boys and our life together. Here's to another 22+ wonderful years to share. I'm sure the best is yet to come
